Today I spent a lot of time testing out various AI programs because it just seems to be the way to go in terms of having a little helper of sorts. It’s not going to replace a human, but for repetitive tasks, I can imagine this being very useful. And one thing I’m finding is while the robots per se could actually do a lot of the repetitive tasks pretty quickly, you have to train this stuff just like it’s an employee working at a new job. For example, just generating some basic text or images where you want it to be a specific way, you constantly have to do these little prompts to tell it, hey, you’re close but not quite.
And again, it’s almost like teaching a regular employee, which is kind of funny when you think about it. This is kind of a difference nowadays in terms of, I suppose, time investment in training people. Normally for a lot of businesses, you do spend a lot of money and time to actually train your employees where you hope they stay in the future, and if they leave, then you have to do it all over again. Whereas with these robots, I suppose the advantage would be you train them once and theoretically they should remember everything and they should stay with you for life unless the service dies, for example.
But it’s kind of an interesting difference in terms of using something more automated nowadays for your workflow. Overall, I can see the potential, but I’m just curious how long I’m going to have to keep training this thing in terms of all this repetitive task where for a human normally they would get it right away. For example, imagine you telling this robot to draw a straight line near the lamp. It’ll basically guess where it is in terms of its placement, whereas if you tell it again, okay, make it a little closer, then it’ll make it right up to it and that’s not right. Whereas with a human, they’d have more common sense and logic.
So it’s just kind of a different twist in terms of training nowadays if you’re using stuff like this for your business or intend to. So it’s kind of an interesting journey so far.
