In a few days here there is supposed to be some huge events happening where one of them was a large drone show which is of course weather dependent as extreme wind or rain wouldn’t be a good thing. Sure enough, the forecast calls for rain and apparently there may be a cancellation of the event. This was supposed to be one of the big highlights for the day too and it emphasizes how challenging it can be if you create a business that is dependent on the weather.
It makes you wonder as the event organizer would you tend to only host events that are 100% capable of being operated rain or shine despite if one weather dependent attraction will definitely attract more people? Or would you simply have a backup plan in case your preferred act can’t be done as an example? I know in the cases of bringing popular speakers people would usually opt to contract the well-known person while having others they can call last minute if plans needed to be changed.
I know in this case it’s still fairly new tech where I am sure once things evolve people will expect companies to invest in ways to make sure things can run rain or shine. Although I guess that is another factor where if your business service is known to be fairly new then people are more likely to be understanding of these kinds of setbacks. Would you risk it though as the evet organizer?
