This Micro Duck Buzz

There was a lot of news today about this new robot duck called the Micro Duck. At first, I thought it was just a toy, but apparently a lot of people are making a big deal about it. The reason is that this toy duck has open-source code, which means people can actually train it to do various things.

By default, it has some basic features like performing tricks and picking up items. But since it’s open source, you can program it and teach it to do all kinds of other things. That’s what makes it interesting — it goes way beyond just being a toy.

Of course, it’s not a full-fledged robot. It won’t be lifting heavy objects or doing your laundry. Still, it makes you wonder if this could be the future of both toys and everyday productivity tools.

It also makes me think about how many people start with hobbies like this — playing with tech toys as kids — and later go on to do much bigger things. Honestly, it makes me want to try one myself just to see what it’s like. It doesn’t sound too expensive, yet it’s already made over a million dollars in sales.

From a business point of view, it’s fascinating how excited people are to get into robotics. After all, if you want one of those big professional robots, you’re usually looking at a five-figure price tag or more. So maybe it’s time to start playing with affordable toys like this just to get familiar with the technology that’s available right now.
