A funny thing happened today as I went to a store specifically to look for some stereo ear buds. I first went into a store which I knew was very good at price matching other stores. As a result, I looked at what they offered and then on my smart phone I quickly searched for other competing businesses to see if anyone had the same item on sale where I could then price match it to get a better deal. Sure enough, the store had like a twenty dollar item that was on sale for about twelve dollars elsewhere. So if I price matched it I would get a pretty good deal.
However, I still had time during the day and so I decided to walk around a little out of curiosity to see if I could find better deals. I then bumped into a store that mostly sold items from what seemed like businesses that have went bankrupt. To my surprise, they had ear buds here too but they were brands of higher quality that the other stores didn’t carry. These ones would normally sell for about thirty dollars but this place was selling them for like ten dollars. Ultimately I decided to buy that one as it was the better deal for the money.
Not too bad for a little bit of exploration. What I do avoid though is simply looking everywhere without first establishing where I know that I can get a good deal and if anything would buy my items there. Otherwise I can imagine doing so much impulse shopping.
