Using Someone Else To Be Your Face

I was watching some interesting clips today of young entrepreneurs who clearly looked like they were “little kids” to the point that no one would take them seriously regardless of how good their product or idea was. In most cases people would just dwell in that but it was neat to hear the things that they came up with to get by these kinds of obstacles.

For example, one person was saying because nobody took him seriously based simply on factors such as his age what he did was that he partnered up with an older person with the agreement that he would be the main point of contact for all the business dealings and that he wouldn’t have to do anything else. I guess you can say it’s like hiring an employee. With that simple decision he was able to get his business going and ultimately making a good income out of it.

Discrimination in these cases is one of those things unfortunately that you must deal with. The reverse could be true too where while in this case it’s about the person being too young I can easily see where if the person seems too old he would equally be laughed out after a quick glance in various situations. While I am sure in principal you would want to just prove others wrong by continuing to fight an uphill battle, sometime examples like these do seem to make more sense to simply do it the smart way where you can position yourself not to be per-judged negatively by getting someone that looks the part instead to help you in your venture.
