Using Competitors As A Training Ground Strategy

Wrestling has always been one of those interesting entertainment mediums where the entire presentation is pre-determined where you are ultimately watching say a live fictional episodic. However, they constantly incorporate business aspects to the theme where they use real life as inspiration for some of its plot.

But one thing I often heard is how the larger organizations actually like more competition. As long as they don’t become bigger than them that is, one of the reasons I have often heard on why the like this is because smaller companies can spend all their time and money discovering and training new talent where if they become promising enough they can likely persuade them to join the bigger players in the industry.

Businesses often spend thousand hiring and training new people that end up not being a good fit for the industry. In this case, it could be cheaper to simply sign proven talent from other companies. That would be devastating for the smaller business of course as they don’t usually have the means to just find replacements easily. One of those ugly sides of doing business in any industry I suppose if you are the smaller player.
