I don’t know about everyone else, but for most business activities today I noticed everyone put their work on a standstill to watch the inauguration event of Barack Obama during that 18 min speech. It was kind of funny in some ways where the places I was at people didn’t really plan to say drop their work to watch the event, but rather everyone just went to the TV with no one saying anything due to the historic ness of the event.
I think the quote from his speech that kind of impressed me the most was the one where he said “know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy†which is obviously referencing to the violence in various parts of the world. It just has so many layers to it too in general I think anyways.
As a Canadian, I am interested to see how this affects us of course and to see the type of action plans the US will develop to stimulate the economy. I suppose in some ways too, even if you are not interested in these types of political stuff normally, considering the situation is the economy which money the factor, in many ways if you are a person looking to turn your financial situations around you can learn from it too. Basically, see what they do and its intent and try to reflect that with your own situation.
