Well today there was no avoiding this even in Canada as everywhere was plastered in regards to news about the US election. What happens south can greatly dictate what will happen here so it makes sense to be informed on who will be president. That was the interesting part as the night went on as it seemed like getting unbiased information was actually hard to find. For example, some places were calling victories way too early in some instances where in others they waited to the very last minute.
The results didn’t seem to pan out like what the experts predicted as well which makes you wonder are these experts truly experts? Just trying to find raw data seemed to be the key where the easiest way was to try and get away from mainstream media options and to the lesser known news sources who focused more on sowing the data as opposed to telling a narrative based on a political bias.
It made me think how even for business it’s important to look at the numbers yourself at times to try and get a real picture on what is going on. Then afterwards you can use “expert” analysis to see if what they say adds up with what you are observing as well. Otherwise you can end up just blindly believing something that isn’t true while ending up wasting money on large purchases as an example. Or worst, being misguided about trend and then completely missing the boat.
