My parents recently wanted to cut down on some of their phone, cable and Internet expenses and as a result they gave me a copy of their bill for me to look over. The first thing I did was to look at the bundle that they are currently enrolled with in comparison to what the company advertises on its site.
I basically just pretended as if I was a new customer and started checking of which services that I wanted to try and match what my parents had. Sure enough, just by doing that I noticed that the monthly fee would be reduced by about $10/month. You’d be surprised at how often you can save money this way for a lot of other services as well.
I usually check about once every two months or so just to make sure that there isn’t a new pricing plan that I am missing out on. When fees go up they are definitely the first ones to tell you, but when it goes down you are going to have to do your own due diligence to get an updating pricing plan. This is especially true if the provider you are with suddenly offers a new service and in turn creates new bundle pricing packages.
