Today a person was showing me her dishwasher and at first I thought it was because it was mobile which was kind of intersting. However, what I noticed was that when she went to use it everything was unplugged and so she needed to manually reconnect everything. She explained that she did this to save money as many times when you have electronic devices they are still consumuning electricity even though the device is off.
That then made me think where if you tried to do that for a lot of other electronics such as the microwave or electric stove on whether or not the savings would be substantial enough to get people to want to do so. I guess the easiest way is to connect all the power to a specific source that you can easily flip off.
