This got me thinking today as I was around the park and it’s the season when there are a lot of baby geese walking around. You probably seen the videos of geese attacking anyone that gets near its babies and sure enough this makes people terrified of them as they hiss everyone at their sight with a threat. However, for myself I knew these geese since they were all babies and they have come a accustomed to certain people. I can literally just walk up to it and kneel down to take a look at the babies and they don’t mind. People find this shocking though with some going crazy on how they feel the geese are going to attack me. Not the case of course as I could literally pet them if I wanted to.
But it makes you think how many times we dismiss ourselves from certain opportunities because we were taught it was say impossible. Like here, people wanted to get closer to them but feared they would attack. If they based it on what they saw on how tame these particular ones were they could have potentially got say closer pictures. You have to remember that not everyone knows everything and if you see something that doesn’t match what you were taught perhaps it’s a good idea to be open minded and learn.
Because like here, it can open up a whole new world of possibilities that the mass majority are simply unaware about.
