Trying To Juggle A Business Owner Persona

Everyone has to start somewhere as they say. Many times when it comes to starting a business people often start it part time where they continue to work full time until their income seems adequate enough to do it full time. That’s not a bad idea usually. One topic that kind of came up that got me thinking is how often times when people are seen as the “CEO” at an event because they are representing their business they try very hard not to mention their current job.

I have seen this a couple of times in an awkward way where the person putting the CEO persona gets recognized by someone they know who just greets them as you normally would with people you know. However, because of the perception where working another job could make them look illegitimate they try to get away from anyone who recognizes them.

Makes you wonder, if you didn’t know this person and you met them for the first time knowing that they actually work for another company currently does that change your perception on how valid their business is? I think nowadays people often have a ton of side gigs as an example. Even if it is just something like Uber. The only time I have personally seen it being a negative is when a person implies they are say a billionaire when they are not. It just seems better to be to embrace where you are at and where you are going to hopefully find the right investors as an example. Your personal stories of your journey can often be the connector to many people.
