Trying To Create As Many Celebration Holidays For Profit As Possible

It’s no surprise that when it comes to holidays and special occasions people are often pressured to spend money o their loved ones. Otherwise, they can be labelled as someone who doesn’t care. Valentines’ day is one of those retail invented holidays that would sort of fit this category. So with that in mind, it got me to think recently on how many companies try and invent as many yearly certation days as possible to get people to spend.

As an example, anniversary sales for businesses are very common and expected which seems like a reasonable occasion to go all out and create promotions to try and generate sales. But what I noticed is that a lot of companies aren’t just having say anniversary event sales but rather they even have things like half a year anniversary event with the same type of fanfare and approach. With that said, a lot of times people don’t seem to treat it as serious as a one year anniversary as maybe people catch on in regards to companies just throwing out so many celebration days per se.

It make you think if less is more here as just having that one giant day in a year can potentially be better as you get everyone focused on just that one versus spreading everyone out who may only be able to participate in one without getting burned out in some way.
