Today there was this treasure hunt of sort that was launched and I guess you can say there are a ton of people looking for it as you can apparently win $100,000. It event is called Goldhunt where people had to spend $35-$55 dollars for this map which actually consists of riddles that tell you where this treasure I buried. I guess another way to think of it is like some kind of skill based lottery.
The reactions were interesting to see as some people approached it purely as a get rich quick method and so they stayed up all night trying to find it. Other people treated it as an activity for the family to try something fun together where if they do find the item first then they can get a huge reward for it. I think that is the best way to go personally. Because taking it way too serious is probably like going to the casino determined that you are going to walk away with a million dollars playing a skill based card game.
Reminds me of like playing those carnival game where you win tickets for prizes. It’s better to play the game for fun where if you win something then great. But being so fanatic about it to the point where you are draining hundreds of dollars and time to try and win this tiny item isn’t a good idea. I think for myself funny enough with like with carnival games seeing how you can just outright buy that prize for way less made me realize there are often better ways to get what you want then getting too caught up with game itself.
