Usually when there are tragic events a lot of people would put their personal life aside to try and comfort those who are affected or they try and redirect some of their resources to help the victims. Today, there was so much news globally about everything from violent protests to well-known figures getting assassinated. This was unavoidable too for the average person as virtually every business in some way paused to address the tragic events.
At the same time, there are business that need to continue business as usual despite this as you can’t exactly just close down if you are an essential service as an example. Although, it does raise a question on whether or not as a business you feel you should have to address tragic situations or simply ignore them all to remain neutral in a sense. Because unfortunately, depending on the topic it could cause extreme division.
Some other ways I have seen are businesses that run as usual but they specifically donate profits to the affected parties which can make sense in terms of a balanced approach.
