As you all may know not too long ago I decided to switch cell phone providers as I felt the value with my old service provider simply wasn’t there. So I opted to get a plan from a different provider that provided me with things like unlimited data as I didn’t want to worry about bill surprises. As well, at the time I didn’t really think I had much use for an unlimited long distance calling plan to US numbers. However, it was pretty much free with the package that I would still be paying way less for so I figured it could come in handy.
I guess today was one of those moments as out of the blue I was required to help a company that was US based and it involved having to speak on the phone for hours. What I thought at the moment was how it was a good thing I even had the option to phone them without having to worry that this would be an expensive call to the point where I would say I couldn’t speak to them at the moment. I probably had to worry more on whether or not the batteries would last on the phone.
This makes me think too on why so many times I usually try to look for the best valued items or services. You may argue that you don’t need more so there is no need, but many times if you can get the same quality and more for the same price you never know what kind of doors those extra resources can enable you to open. That’s different than say simply buying a bunch of extra stuff and add-ons where you have to pay more if you currently don’t use it at all. In those cases it will probably end up hurting you more financially.
In this case today though researching and being picky before in wanting to get more features for the phone service paid off. Waiting for the day now where I’ll have to do a live video conference on the spot with the phone and being glad I don’t have to worry about the data.
