I have been spending the past couple of days in reading what’s new with that CES 2021 event. While there were the usual computers and electronics products, you can usually find items here and there that are a bit quirky that don’t get as much attention initially. That’s what I thought when I saw this AI pet robot product called the MOFLIN.
From what I gather it is essentially a doll that learns behaviours as time goes on. You are pretty much supposed to treat it like a house pet. It even makes sounds. Many people are actually looking forward to this because during all these lock downs I suppose this can act as a way to keep people occupied. Apparently it is being crowdfunded as well.
Sounds like a great toy for kids as example? But look at the price. It looks like this thing would cost over $500 Canadian. I know it’s an AI robot and all, but would you actually consider getting this as a toy gift of sort for that price? I would think there would have to be some great productive functionalities in it for that price.
But people are buying it which goes to show that there is always a market for everything. How many people would actually spend their COVID relief funds on stuff like this do you think?
