Thinking of Security Expense For An In-Person Live Event Versus A Digital One

Sunny drone shot

This week there are a ton of entertainment and gaming related news where as a result a ton of media outlets are doing livestreams as a way to push out the news. Since it’s usually whoever can get the stuff out there faster usually does better in many ways if a company isn’t doing that they will probably get left behind. One thing I noticed was that with many of these livestreams the chats are open to the public to post in real-time as well. That means if someone is spamming or saying something inappropriate you would need someone to moderate that.

However, in many cases a lot of companies didn’t have any moderators of sort. So this meant there were often bots that just post spam to the chats nonstop which definitely makes it odd. I was thinking from a business point of view if this was an in-person event the company would probably have some kind of security staff of sort to deal with trouble makers so that they don’t ruin the event for others. So it’s interesting to see how a lot of companies overlook this for digital live events.

Although I guess for most the idea of security for a digital event isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind as you can’t exactly physically interact with others. But like with this example by not investing in the proper resources to deal with say the problem people even in an online live event it will definitely effect the experience for others.
