Usually when you have some kind of business people often say you have to stop doing things for free otherwise you won’t be able to live. That is despite how good the cause may be. There was an interesting example of this though where one person was telling the other the same thing. But the funny thing was there was then a situation where the person knew that a school could use their help and they couldn’t pay him. The person tried to convince them to do it for free.
That was very odd I thought after all that talk about essentially saying one should always value their time in the sense of getting paid only to flip when it comes to a cause that they believe in. That is kind of interesting though where should you always demand for a fee regardless of the circumstance for the most part?
I saw another example before where a lady wanted a website for her charity and so she approached a ton of designers. They all pretty much said something along the lines of it’s their profession and they need to get paid unfortunately as they wouldn’t expect her to work for free either. In that case would you say that is an appropriate answer or would you view them negatively as it was technically for a charity even though they have no real interest or connection with it?
