I just got this e-mail today about this promotion that is happening where by the looks of it you can buy a brand new Quickbooks Pro 2011 edition for about $130. I suppose price wise it is good deal for people who are looking to buy it as the original price is usually around $200 or so. The literature in this advertisement was clearly targeting at users who already use a previous edition though as this was an attempt to entice them to buy a new version it seems.
Maybe I am just incredibly picky about a good deal, but since what I have currently works fine
I would probably only be slightly enticed by this if it was under $80. Other than that, I would usually only upgrade in situations like these if I needed to instal new programs for whatever reason such as buying a new computer.
Why under $80 or so? In my opinion, since this wouldn’t exactly constitute as a must have I kind of place these types of purchases in the same category as say buying a new gadget or electronic. Example, phone upgrades. Like in those situations you can live without it and so upgrading it is more about enhancing.
At the same time, for myself $80 sounds like the appropriate price point for myself when it comes to spending without it being too big of a deal but at the same time enough for me to really think about the purchase.
