I heard a topic today about someone who was looking to buy a home and one point which was brought up was that they didn’t want the home to be too old due to the expenses one may have to incur due to things like renovations. Interestingly enough, instead of basing it on facts such as if renovations have already been done just the sole point of what age the property was automatically gave him a bias that it must be breaking down anytime soon. Therefore, he kept swaying what could have been a good deal for him.
Granted when it comes to certain things like produces you do want to worry about the age, this just makes me think of things such as a plain table where regardless if it is say 10 years old as long as it works and matches your need why sway it off? Especially if the price is right. In some ways it reminds me of how when shopping people don’t want to buy a “used” item whereas the word “refurbished” makes it sound more appealing. In general you could say new stuff could be just as worst if it has bad workmanship. Bottom line, you still need to check everything regardless of the age.
