You often hear about large companies buying out smaller companies in an effort to control the competition from growing too big. This way the larger organization can maintain its lead in the marketplace as well. But this was kind of unique where there was a competition held for people to create some work that would get funded for thousands. As you can imagine a lot of people applied and there were different categories.
So what ended up happening was there was one person who actually reached out to the people who he felt wanted the same thing where their proposition and end products were really similar. Instead of competing against each other he convinced them to simply work together where combining their resources would increase the odds of them getting a grant and everyone still gets to do what they wanted. They did end up partnering up and going into it as one group.
That’s interesting to think about as I wouldn’t imagine most people would think of reaching out to people who are doing similar things. It could be a great way to increase your chances of success too where everyone wins in the end.
