Strange Bank PIN Myth

I was reading an interesting note today about bank security where it claimed that if you enter your PIN number in reverse at an ATM it is supposed to alert the police. Basically, it is meant for scenarios such as if someone is trying to rob you and demands you to take money out of your account. In a way it is supposed to act like a silent alarm.

Although, every other literature I read has mentioned that this isn’t real. Apparently it still gets spread across the Internet though as something that actually works. If you think about it too, it would be silly for a bank to not plaster this information everywhere if it was true.
