It’s been a few weeks or so since Sears Canada has been in the process of liquidation and for the most part the sales don’t seem that great. There was some news about this that made a lot of people not want to even step foot into the place where apparently even though the company is going under the higher executives of sort will still be receiving pensions whereas the lower level workers won’t. Therefore this made a lot of people mad to the point where they won’t step foot into the store as they don’t want the company to profit more.
I was thinking about this as to my understanding when companies like these go bankrupt all the stuff essentially becomes the property of the liquidator where if anything they are getting the profits. In knowing that would you still buy stuff from the store? In these cases anyways most people would still say no.
In many ways it reminds me of the saying too on how for people in general perception is reality. Maybe at times it is better to do business under a different label.
