Spending Too Much For A Good Discount

Today I got a pretty good offer from a store app as it stated I could get $25 off my purchase for virtually anything in the store as long as I spend $75 in one visit. That’s not too bad overall and is enticing. However, it’s a common dilemma as I don’t actually need anything from there. But wasting $25 seems bad right? The store used to sell a lot of electronic items which would easily make it a steal if you needed something such as buying a phone or even video games. But shopping there today meant I would have to buy stuff such as cookies or some grocery items. Forcefully buying $75 worth of those kinds of items at a regular price kind of negates the discount.

I was even trying to see if there were other reasonable items such as large bags of peanuts but the regular price at say $15 for a bag was terrible as I know they go on sale for $9 a bag at times. Even basic things like shampoo were like $7 a bottle and I know they can go for about $3. So all in all, I decided to not take advantage of the offer. You have to consider that when contemplating about these deals if you are paying all regular retail prices for the items as it will at best just make the purchases as if you were buying it on a sales day. Which fundamentally means you simply ending up buying more stuff you don’t actually need at the moment.

That’s not a good deal of course and so it’s best to just save your money in these cases.
