Changing For The Sake of It When Not Needed

It’s the new years time and with that a lot of companies take that opportunity to change things up whether its internal changes such as business management systems or even branding material. This got me to think as I saw a few companies change their logos from what it appears to be a way to try and stay fresh as they assume the old logo is getting boring per se. It makes me wonder, is it necessary for stuff like that?

A logo is usually tied to one’s core identity and you can argue changing that may just cause some confusion when it comes to branding identity. It’s not as dramatic as literally changing your company name of course. Updating the style itself to make it look say sharper and all I can see would be a good new years change. Sometimes you don’t need to change everything just because it is the new years as I would think most people wouldn’t consider that a factor on whether or not they will buy a new release or not.

Imagine as an individual you bought a new car for the sake of buying a new car for the new years even though what you have is fine. Almost the same thought in my opinion. If you have all the reasons to believe it will help you to say earn more then that’s different.
