Not too long-ago people would be talking about working multiple jobs where usually that means someone is working a lot to try and pay the bills as you pretty much have to work around the clock. Once you finish with one employer then it’s on to the next. I was thinking how nowadays I am kind of doing that in the sense of I am working multiple gigs at once all with different companies while making it work. This isn’t a case of like say a consultant having multiple clients where you are doing the same thing for each customer. I am talking about for one client I could be doing a creative task and the other it could be marketing.
It’s kind of crazy to think about but a lot of people do that as well when it comes to gig work. One day they could be say a taxi driver and the next day they could be setting up Ikea furniture. To me it’s just normal to try and maximize my skills if people request for it. A lot of those skills just came from hobbies too where there are a lot of people who need help professionally with those exact skillsets. You never know too as it could be the most trivial things to you like speaking a second language fluently and offering translation services.
It’s not so scary once you get the hang of it and creates a diverse income pool for you in case one industry dies off.
