Sometimes The Value Is In The Smaller Items

You would assume for most items you buy at the supermarket the larger packages would provide a better discount since a company can sell you more and still make a decent profit versus selling smaller items that should theoretically cost more with packaging and all. So today while going through the store there appeared to be a bunch of Easter clearance candy on sale and there were these chocolate bunnies with no prices on the shelf.

Out of curiosity, I first scanned a box that was 200 grams of chocolate and the price was $1.49. That’s a pretty good deal as usually these would go for $3 to $5. I then scanned the smaller box listed as 100 grams and the price of that was 49 cents each. That’s a way better deal as it would make more sense to purchase multiple boxes of those if you were to do so.

Usually the smaller items are more expensive such as buying those little juice boxes versus a one or two litre product as an example. Just another example on how you always have the check and calculate for the best deals versus making any assumptions.
