Today I was told of a person that wanted to start a business here where there would be a lot of issues as it is an overseas company. As you can imagine, there are a lot of technicalities in place for foreign business owners who want to set up a presence here. The funny thing I thought was that they didn’t really want to waste time researching anything and instead threw thousands of dollars to a third party consulting company to do everything such as the business plans and legal work.
I guess while it’s true that money can buy the knowledge and experience you would need in situations like this, to me it just feels so dangerous to not play a hands on role in calling the shots. I think for me at most if I was going to throw money like that I would rather give it to an individual who I trust a lot to find help as oppose to simply using a third party supplier.
It’s almost like playing the lottery when you think about it as you are just putting money out there and hoping it works out for the best.
