Well this was a first in life. Usually e-mails today are an important part of communication. Especially in business it can be a quick way to confirm jobs and any other agreed arrangements before commencing. Now recently I saw a situation that simply required an individual to confirm details on an e-mail as there was an entire thread of conversations. A simple reply is all that was needed.
However, this was the funny part that I never seen before. At first the person was procrastinating in giving a reply which was very odd. Usually that would imply the person has something to hide. So after pressure he was forced to reply. While he did reply to the e-mail, he ended up deleting every message below which basically has no context as a result. So it’s like he was confirming to nothing where in the future he could easily turn around and say he never confirmed anything I guess you can say or that it was in relation to something else.
To validate this is what he was doing, the person was resent e-mails asking him to please acknowledge the entire conversation in context without removing anything. Get this, he even goes as far as simply composing a new e-mail with similar titles and just saying he acknowledges without all the other messages again. How can anyone think this would work as a way to not show any confirmation? If no other messages actually existed then yes I can see how that would work. But in the scenario where there is so much context to reference it’s just bizarre.
I envision it kind of like trying to figure out who took a cookie from the cookie jar where everyone is asked to open their hands. At first the person doesn’t open it. Then he leaves the room where you see him washing his hands and brushing his teeth. Then from a distant he then shows you there are no crumbs. Imagine all that action in a sense being caught on camera too. Like there I guess on one end you could argue that he never showed any crumbs in is hand or mouth as even the camera couldn’t pick it up. But who honestly wouldn’t see what is going on? You see something new every day I suppose.
