I was reading some reviews of various local stores here today and there is this one place that is known to sell things for a lot cheaper compared to the large chain stores. However, the reason that they can get things for cheaper is that many times the product they get have some kind of cosmetic issue. For example, an orange that may be bruised a little. Despite this though the majority of the products seem as good.
This reminded me of something my friend said before where we were discussing about why things were so much more expensive at one place and his answer was that they made everything look nice. Funny enough there is probably some truth to that. I usually don’t mind the mini scavenger hunt like approach if it means saving like 100%+. Yes, it usually can be that cheaper I find.
It’s when the saving are only say a few cents where I most likely wouldn’t bother as the time it takes may not be worth it. Overall it’s a good way to see how much you are potentially overpaying too for simply the product once you minus the operating expenses of various places.
