Seeing Fines As Just Money or Reputation With That Conor Mcgregor Story

large business and finance

Like many people I recently saw a story on how the UFC fighter Conor Mcgregor essentially assaulted a bunch of fighters who were on a bus and as a result the police was looking for him. This wasn’t just one of those heated press conferences either as apparently he wasn’t actually supposed to be at the event. There was a ton of speculation as to why he did it since what he did is very serious where he could possibly have criminal charges in a sense. Inly he knows for sure of course.

But one thing I was thinking of was maybe money and fame got to his head where he felt the consequence would mostly be financial where I think it is safe to say he has a lot of money after that famous boxing match. So theoretically is it possible that he thought whatever he would be fined financially is so low in comparison to what he has that it would be worth it to him? The points were brought up again though how he could have a criminal record. That begs the question, would it be more about the money or your reputation you fear when you get a fine like this?

It kind of made me think of all those Mark Cuban stories too where he constantly got fined for being so vocal in sense during the NBA games in an effort to vouch for his team. Like there would you have a mindset that the money you pay in the fine is worth it where the trade-off could be you are showing the team you own that you are just as passionate as they are? Or would your reputation be more worth it to in a sense have a clean record?

Kind of an interesting business scenario. Although these two situations are way different where one is extremely inappropriate I did read quotes like how apparently Mcgregor said things such as how it needed to be done. I would think having a criminal record wouldn’t be worth it though.
