This was kind of interesting as it would appear recently a company has been mass e-mailing people fake billings from PayPal where I can imagine many people will actually just pay it thinking it’s something they forgot to attend to. This one in particular just stated the following:
Invoice payment reminder
Reminder: BiIIing Team sent you an invoice.
Amount due: $340.00 USD
Due on receipt
In these cases you can simply report it and it will be taken down. But because they mass e-mailed a bunch of people some decided to actually reply to the e-mail in an attempt to scold the senders. However, their emails went to everyone on the list. Other than maybe getting some personal satisfaction in say yelling at a scammer, it is often suggested that you don’t reply to these e-mails and either report or just ignore them.
The reason is replying to them verifies that it’s a valid e-mail address with someone actively using it. Therefore, you will likely be placed on another list to be sent even more scams. Why put yourself in that position? From what I saw too PayPal appeared to have taken it down pretty quickly. So it may be better to just report them versus replying to them directly.
