Saving Restaurant Dessert Funds

Today a person wanted to treat me for dinner and as usual I often order the least expensive item as I don’t usually want people to spend too much money. What was kind of funny was I always say dessert prices at restaurant should be skipped as the businesses often make a ton of money in that department. So when he asked if I wanted dessert I said no where we can just save the money and buy something at the supermarket.

Even he laughed and agreed where getting like a slice of pie at the restaurant could cost like seven dollars. For that amount you could get a whole pie or two at the supermarket. I guess it was a lighthearted way to not spend too much at a restaurant while at the same time getting more value for the dollar. I know restaurants would probably hate it when people do this. But I think a common thing is people would eat the main meal at one place and actually go to a dedicated dessert shop after. It can be a lot cheaper and better at times.

Just like shopping for groceries at the supermarket going to different places for different items can often save you a ton of money as opposed to getting everything in one place for the sheer convenience.
