Saving Gift Bags And Lucky Red Envelopes

Today a person was telling me how they needed to find a gift bag to put a present in but didn’t really have time to go to the store to buy one. So they either had to find one lying around the house somewhere or they would just give the gift as is. As it turned out, they did have a gift bag from the Christmas time it seems. This was actually from a gift they have received and for whatever reason decided to keep it. So it was re-used in this case which worked out.

I know a lot of people who do this for lucky red envelopes too that people usually use to give money during Chinese New Years or birthdays. Inside is usually something like a twenty dollar bill and most people aren’t too picky about the design. So saving the packages enables people to re-use them without having to buy more. Does t seem too tacky per se to keep and recycle these kinds of items to save time and money?

In some ways I would think it would be similar to keeping boxes that companies used to ship you items where whenever you need to ship something out you can simply reuse that as well.
