I was talking to a person who was going to rent a truck and all as he had to prepare to move items to a different house. I guess it is not too hard to imagine that more people will opt to move on a weekend as a result of getting a day off work. This usually means higher rental prices too as a result of a supply and demand. Therefore, because of this he mentioned that he could probably save about 40% off his moving expenses by simply doing it on a weekend instead of a weekday.
In his case too, even if he had to miss a day of work and not get paid he would still be saving more money overall which was interesting. I know many people do that for things like weddings too as they choose say a weekday as a lot of the items that people usually want for the event are cheaper. It’s not surprising to see department stores and restaurants bump up their prices too on weekdays to capitalize on the crowds too. So research wisely I suppose on how much you can save this way based simply on the factor on whether it is a weekend or weekday.
