Risking Being Left Behind Over COVID-19 Safety Precautions Education

When it comes to work in a competitive industry often times many people get their big break by taking on dangerous or undesirable jobs. Especially in fields where everything seems to be controlled within a specific group of people taking advantage of those opportunities are often necessary. Or else you will simply fade away. But this topic got me thinking where many schools are planning to re-open September where a lot of people don’t want to. For example, parents who don’t want to send their kids to school for fear of contracting the virus.

But here was the interesting thing as I guess you can say with or without everyone the class will go on and people who don’t attend will simply fall behind. With that I then read some comments from people suggesting that if you have to force your kids to skip a whole year of school as that is the safest thing to do then why not? No one can force you to put your child in school. It made me think how missing even that one year can probably put the person in so many disadvantages. The one unfortunate thing is a lot of people do judge others based on age where it can be an unwritten rule in terms of who to favor for a job.

Aside from the superficial items like that delaying the person’s education by a year will prevent them from qualifying for higher education options where even a year can be a lot in the sense of technology changing fast too. So imagine skipping a year to find out the rules per se have changed and in order to graduate or get a job people now require you to learn all these new things that others did not.

I think in situations like this, if you were to not put your child in a public school with others you should immediately look for alternatives so that they don’t fall behind. For example, maybe even home-schooling is an option. Just sitting there doing nothing is a big mistake I think. Especially with all this downtime you can start planning.

Thinking outside of the box too, if traditional education doesn’t seem to be the way to go for you then at least teach your child some kind of trade skill. Bottom line is do something I say as oppose to just sitting around and hoping things will magically change.
