There was a business recently where they hired a new employee as the organization had big plans to expand. After training and getting the person started it seemed like a great match. The employee seemed happy and was expressing how she thought she would have a great future with the company. To the company’s surprise the person decided to quit. With no explanation either it’s almost like the person had one stressful moment and called it quits after only a few days.
That probably costed the company thousands just in training the person too and it kind of made me wonder where even for myself if I just got hired at a new company would I ever quit that soon even if I was unhappy about something? I am not talking about a serious issue like say abuse of some kind but let’s pretend it’s not enjoying the 30 minutes a day of having to attend a conventional meeting. Would you quit that fast over that?
I am just wondering how much that could potentially affect your future opportunities if you apply within the same industry again as no company wants to invest in someone who will literally leave in a few days. There is the argument of do what you love but at the same time there has to be some kind of professional strategy to your exit so that you hopefully don’t burn bridges as they say.
