I was reading today that apparently the stock for company Pfizer and Moderna have been drastically dropping as people are scrambling to sell off their shares. You would wonder why where if you just read the news many places are still using their products regularly. So business should be great. However, I was reading how some investors never rely on mainstream new but rather they get a feel for what people in general are saying while doing his own research. For example, doing so in this case would generate opinions such as how data regarding the vaccines rare being withheld. So as the investor they saw this as a sign to potentially sell now.
I guess I can see how in that case if you simply relied on mainstream news it would be too late. That must take some discipline though to try and research everything yourself as an investor. It’s almost like taking on a second career in trying to be an investigative journalist on top of trading stocks.
Thinking about it though, hobbyists in various industries often joke how they could have predicted things better than experts who have no idea what it’s really like. So maybe that’s an easy way to research when you think about it in regards to simply hanging around people within a specific topic. They could probably tell you all you need to understand the trends.
