I was watching this tech review of various monitors that were coming out in the market. As you may expect, they went over all the basics such as which monitor performs the best in various categories. It was interesting to see that at the end of each review they talked about how much the item would cost on average when it comes to electricity. For example, some would be $15 worth of a electricity a year versus say $25.

Imagine if every store started to adapt something like this where on the price tag it would indicate such a fact to give you a better understanding on how much money you would truly need to use the item. If they had this on say cars where it indicated on average how much gas money you would have to spend in a year for example I’m sure it would make people think twice about buying the item simply because they have enough money presently to purchase it.

Of course this wouldn’t work too well for the business as many times it relies on people to buy things emotionally. But as a consumer doing this research on your own will sure make you savvier when it comes to saving money. I suppose at this point it is dependent on how many product review companies decide to implement more factoids like these on their product reviews.
