New years is coming up and one thing I was thinking of doing was taking a new classes which of course would involve some additional expense. At first it doesn’t sound too bad where it’s like $120/month. However, add that up for the whole year and it will easily be $1440 without tax yet. People often buy things like a gym membership during the new years as monthly wise it sounds so cheap right? However, look at it from an annual view and it sure paints a different picture.
For me anyways too it makes me think of everything from how much income I bring in a month while comparing it to other ways I could be using that money. Like if this was purely for exercise as an example would it make more sense to spend like $600 to buy all the gear you need to train at home? With that, I would still have like $840 to spare which you could then use to buy healthier foods or maybe even use it towards other expenses.
It’s probably not the most fun way to think about your potential spending habits, but in many ways I feel it’s a necessary habit so that you aren’t buying into something emotionally.
