Peer Pressure To Not Run Your Business During A Pandemic

I thought this was kind of odd but common during these times where there are plenty of businesses that you could argue aren’t essential per se. Therefore, staying open would lead to criticism that people aren’t doing their part to control the virus. This could be businesses such as clubs and restaurants as people would say just stay home and cook.

With that it seems like businesses usually take one of two options. They actually try and debate with people who say they should just shut down or they just ignore them and try to make a living based on the guidelines provided. I do think it is surprising though when you see businesses that just shut down saying it’s because they care to imply that other businesses who don’t follow have no ethics per se.

This whole ordeal sounds like something a start-up would have to go through such as having friends and family members telling them they shouldn’t do it. I think in these cases you should at least try and adapt to the situation as opposed to just closing because of people who think you should. There are some countries in the world with no shut downs either and they are better off than many.
