Paying More For Pure Food or Saving Money With Artificial

I was thinking of buying some jam today and there appeared to be some on sale. It seemed like an okay price for a brand that advertising itself as having more pure fruit as the price is usually over six dollars but was now on sale for about $4.50. As usual though, I usually have a look around to see if anything else was on sale and what caught my attention was there was another brand advertising a pure jar of jam as well except this one was $4.99.

As I looked at the ingredients the $4.50 one actually had a lot of sugar added it seems whereas the $4.99 one didn’t have any. The frugal shopper in me wanted the cheaper option. However, with a few cents different and the fact that the other item was more pure I decided to go with that. You can’t overlook how in the case of food the better you eat the more likely you will save money in the long run such as not having medical complications due to eating too much sugar as an example.

It relates to that other thought as well how when it comes to the latest tech or entertainment product people always want the best for their dollar whereas for food people often just consider anything edible the same. They should all be treated with the same mindset I say. Especially when your health is involved.
