One of my friends was telling me that when it comes to grocery shopping his wife and himself strictly only buy organic fruits and vegetables as a way to live a healthier lifestyle. With this comes a heftier price tag as well and it was kind of interesting how they budget for it where it is almost like someone trying to save up to buy say a new TV.
To them they treat it as a luxury and so to be able to afford it they sacrifice things such as trying not to dine out too often. I think on average organic products cost about 20% to 30% more than normal. It seems kind of strange when you think about it where budgeting for fruits and vegetables is considered a luxury doesn’t it? I guess one suggestion would be to grow your own produce to save money, but I guess the time factor would outweigh the benefit as you would technically be spending more money through your time in trying to grow it yourself.
In general, I suppose if you had to spend more money for something that these types of things are the good things to do so.
