Recently I had an interesting observation where I have seen it enough times to determine that the person was doing it intentionally as a business strategy of sorts. It was pretty straight forward where an issue was brought up to them in the form of a letter which the person did read. It asked a lot of straight forward questions to determine if the business relationship should continue. Now you would imagine most people would say have a sit down and address it correct? Well what this person does is purposely not address it in hopes that the person would just forget to try and prolong the partnerships too.
I guess the most typical example would be like an employee bringing up a concern to a manger where they don’t actually address it as the person just keeps working for them as they wait for an answer. I was thinking how funny enough this often works for people it seems. Many times when people work together, even though you know business wise it isn’t really working one tends to stay in hopes it will turn around. There are actually people who play on that as well.
At times like those I think it’s always a good reminder to never try and put all your eggs in one basket too. In many ways like in these scenarios the other party has to clearly understand that they have a lot to lose per se by not addressing it quick. Usually that thought would only happen if they actually know you have options as an example. Kind of the wise thing to do nowadays as you just never know when one thing will end.
