One Size Fits All Or Catering To Others

Today I was thinking as a person expressed how he wanted to grow his martial arts school which of course means attracting a larger audience. Currently one of the biggest obstacles is that the person is firmly set to his ways in the sense of if it works for him then it must work for everyone else. This can range from doing certain exercise with extreme repetitiveness or having to life objects that are suited for him but maybe not someone else. But again the insistence is if it works for him then it should for everyone else.

Usually for these types of business the only time you can really get away with a one size fits all is if you have so much credential and fame of sorts where everyone around the world will demand you for your services. In that sense you will always be busy and so you don’t really need to cater to the majority. But for most of us having an open mind and adapting to what the market needs which suits them is something you may just have to adapt.

Like for the exercise routines just because a fit person can run a huge lap in 30 seconds doesn’t mean someone overweight can. They need to start at a different pace. Doesn’t that seem odd to think that what works for one guy will work for the other? You could argue of course that you only want the fit people with this example, but if you are struggling to grow, which was the conflict here, simply adapting to the demographic available to you seems like the right thing to do.
