I was reading about this business that was struggling to find the right people to work for the company as it appeared that no one was applying. The reason for this it appeared is that the business is located in an inconvenient area where most people who are looking for work could find something closer which pays the same if not more. There were then all these comments about what the company can do to make it more attractive to people such as making the wages there higher than other companies.
I was surprised that no one mentioned things like perks and benefits as I have seen countless times where people work for business with a big reason being they want to get discounts for the products that the store sells. Even some places offer simple things like free food for lunch time which attracts a lot of people. I think I even heard of one company before that actually setup a daycare of sort where parents can bring their kids to work which is obviously a more extreme case scenario. It’s not always about just offering more money though I say as perks and incentives could be just as good while costing you less.
