Offering Leads To Gain Attention

Sunny drone shot

This was a neat point I read recently in regards to how to get someone’s attention to actually reply to your potential business propositions where the first challenge is to build a connection. Usually for things like an e-mail introduction people would start of by expressing how they respect the recipient and then go on to pitch why they think it would be great if they do business together. As you can imagine these kinds of letters often go to the trash.

So the technique that one person used actually made a lot of sense. The way he approached it is whoever he wanted to make a connection with he would genuinely try and find a potential client for them. For example, let’s pretend the business sells chocolate. So in his e-mail he will do the general introduction and then express how he actually knows someone who may be interested in his products. Therefore he would be tested in connecting. Apparently he gets a lot of responses this way.

It makes sense too as from the business perspective why wouldn’t they at least listen if they think the person is potentially giving them money I guess you can say in the form of a potential referral? It’s all about offering some kind of value as oppose to always coming across that you just want something from the person.
