With all the news recently of the Rogers network going down in Canada recently so many people were quick to try and find a different carrier to switch to permanently. That’s what got me thinking where I didn’t see a flood of say Internet and phone companies jumping at the opportunity to acquire all these customers such as by releasing special bundles to entice them to do so. Now there were some theories such as they didn’t do that as all the big companies work together to a certain extent, but it makes you wonder would these times be ideal to take advantage of if I was related to your industry?
For example, imagine even something like a restaurant where there is a lot of commotion how one place didn’t have enough food as advertised for all the guests that they booked. So like there would you let it be as you don’t want to say kick someone when they are down or would you immediately start say posting up signs and advertisements that you are open and welcoming customers? To push It further, maybe offer a special discount as well.
I don’t see why you wouldn’t if you are simply capitalizing on the extra traffic per se. It may be different if you are specifically criticizing other’s misfortunate. But letting people you know you are there when they are searching exactly what you can offer seems like a normal business thing to do. I am more surprised if companies don’t take advantage of a surge of traffic.
