One thing that is always funny to see during these times is how some companies would have a Black Friday pricing sale where one would literally only save like one dollar off the regular price. This could just be due to say lazy programming for a site sale. But it’s something that happens offline too where the sale is so underwhelming to the point where people actually feel insulated to the point where they are inclined not to shop at the place again. This is versus if they just kept the price as is where people concluded that they are just not having any sales.
I guess it’s a little patronizing to many similar to how someone feels they are so valuable that you will appreciate them offering you a free glass of water as the anniversary celebration gift. I know some companies have a philosophy of not having any big sales at all versus just having consistent good prices. People understand that where they don’t need to have sales if you think about it.
But if people know your items are say premium priced while offering minor discounts like these it just shows you value the money and not the customers at all. It just sounds better to skip the sale all together if you wont offer anything substantial.
